Art in the Gardens is a non-juried exhibit of two dimensional art depicting plants as found in nature or gardens. All mediums are welcome. However, no photography, electronic/computer generated/assisted or 3 – D art is eligible for this exhibit. Artists 18 years of age and older may exhibit up to two pieces of art. An entry fee of $10 for the first piece or $15 for two pieces payable to Gardens of the Fox Cities must be submitted with the entry/hold harmless form, a self addressed, stamped, envelope and accompanied by photos of the piece(s) on or before January 15, 2010, the entry deadline. Photos will not be returned. Your art must be original, created by you, and completed in the past 3 years. No work done in a class, workshop or under supervision is eligible. No works of art will be exhibited that have not been submitted through the proper procedure. If the number of entries exceeds space available, excess entry fees will be returned.
Entry/hold and harmless form
Information from the entry form is used for multiple purposes such as inventory lists, wall labels and exhibit printed materials. NO changes in title, price or substitution of another painting is allowed once the form is submitted. If your painting is Not for Sale, please note it as such.
Framing/Exhibiting
Paintings should be suitably matted/mounted , framed under glass or plexiglass and properly wired, ready to hang. No saw tooth hangers will be permitted. Size limitation: 48" and 50#. Place a label on the back of your painting stating: name, address, phone number, title of painting, price or NFS with value. You cannot leave your packaging at the Gardens of the Fox Cities
Delivery
All art must be hand delivered to the Gardens of the Fox Cities. The drop off date is
Monday, February 22, 2010, between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. No shipped work will be accepted. You may pick up invitation cards for the Opening Reception when you drop off your art.
Liability
While every effort will be taken to assure the safety and security of all of the artwork on display during the exhibit, Gardens of the Fox Cities, The Appleton Art Center and Designing Women and the volunteers connected with the exhibit will not be held responsible for loss or damage, however caused. Insuring of the artwork is the responsibility of the artist alone and will not be the responsibility of the aforementioned entities. Your entry into the exhibit constitutes agreement with these terms and conditions.
Sales
Works may be for sale or Not for Sale (NFS). If a work is not for sale, please state its value on the Entry/Hold and Harmless form. Sales will be encouraged and will be handled directly between the artist and the buyer. No commission will be charged. Contact information with the price of the piece must be included with each work. Any artwork sold may not be removed from the exhibit until the exhibit closes.
Opening Reception
The opening reception is Sunday, February 28, 2010, from 1 - 3 p.m.
The public will be invited to attend. Artists will receive invitation cards to send to whomever they wish to invite.
